Tergar Schools

Tergar Schools creates residential schools  for students ages 5-14. These schools  foster kind and resilient human beings who embody awareness, compassion, wisdom, and joy. Based on the teachings of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, Tergar Schools’ approach weaves together Tibetan Buddhist view, meditation, and application, integrated with disciplinary subject areas ,and  offering instruction through child-centered, experiential methodologies. 

At present, Tergar Schools currently operates a pilot school in Kathmandu, Nepal, with 82 students, 8 faculty, 3 administrators, and over 15 support staff.  Beginning in 2022. Tergar School Kathmandu has become a dynamic space for learning and growing in community. In late 2023, Tergar Schools will break ground on their flagship campus in the Yolmo region of Nepal. Tergar School Yolmo is envisioned as a naturally pristine learning environment in which students can explore both their inner and outer worlds.
